The legendary soundtrack LP for the Japanese film masterpiece The Inugami Family is reissued for the first time in 50 years! The Inugami Family, a 1976 mystery film directed by Kon Ichikawa. The soundtrack by Yuji Ohno, which decisively established the gloomy and stylistically beautiful worldview of Seishi Yokomizo's original work through it's music. This masterpiece, grounded in jazz and progressive rock, masterfully expresses the madness and melancholy of the story through it's tense harmonies and rhythms. It fulfills the fundamental role of film music stirring the viewer's heart while also standing as an overwhelmingly accomplished album that holds it's own as a musical work, even when separated from the visuals.
